古典写真技法のラボ、東京に誕生。

AP2 lab.（Alternative Photographic Processes Lab.）は、様々な古典写真技法を研究し、より多くの方に親しんでいただけるコミュニティを目指して、2027年1月のオープンに向けて始動しました。

古典技法（オルタナティブプロセス）は、薬品の入手や取り扱い、設備の面など、誰もが取り組みやすい技法ばかりではありません。そのため、ワークショップで体験しても、継続して実践するにはハードルが高いと言われてきました。そもそも日本には、古典技法を腰を据えて学べる施設が少なく、設備を揃えたレンタル暗室となると皆無です。

AP2 lab. には、一般的な銀塩の暗室に加えて、古典技法の設備を揃えたレンタル暗室を併設します。

体験で終わらせず、もっとやってみたい人、技術の習得を目指す人に、私たちが一緒に伴走します。そして将来的には、各技法のプロフェッショナルを育て、培った技術を次の世代へと繋いでいく場にしたいとも考えています。

A lab for alternative photographic processes, coming to Tokyo.

AP2 lab. (Alternative Photographic Processes Lab.) researches a wide range of alternative photographic processes, and has set out toward a January 2027 opening with the aim of building a community where more people can come to know and enjoy them.

Alternative processes are not always easy to take up: the chemicals can be difficult to obtain and handle, and the equipment is hard to come by. So even after a workshop, keeping up the practice has long been considered a high hurdle. In Japan, places where you can study these processes in depth are few, and a rental darkroom fully equipped for them is nowhere to be found.

Alongside a conventional silver gelatin darkroom, AP2 lab. will have a rental darkroom fully equipped for alternative processes.

Not just a one-time experience: for anyone who wants to go further, or to master the craft, we will work alongside you. And in time, we also hope to train professionals in each process and make this a place where the skills we cultivate are handed on to the next generation.
